The Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana (FELU) and the Centre of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (CIR) hosted the 4th AIB-CEE Chapter (i.e. Academy of International Business – Central and Eastern European Chapter) Conference on the Changing Global Landscape and Regional Cooperation between 26 and 28 September 2017 in Ljubljana. The conference focused on the most recent changes in the global landscape and their impact on regional cooperation from economic, business, social sciences, humanistic and other perspectives. More than 70 researchers and academics from 23 countries (including Central and Eastern European states as well as Australia, USA, and China) participated at the event. Centre of International Relations was represented by its head Maja Bučar, who was a panellist in a round table on challenges in research and collaboration in the region; Metka Stare and Andreja Jaklič, who addressed the multidimensional roles of services in global value chains; Boštjan Udovič, whose contribution prepared with Davor Vuchkovski from FELU focused on the role of environment in cultural sensitivity and intelligence of Slovenian students and diplomats; and Iris Koleša and Anže Burger presenting a paper on firms’ decision-making related to international assignments during internationalisation. At the event the conference organisers also presented the first ever AIB-CEE lifetime achievement award in the field of international business. The latter was awarded to Professor Emeritus Marjan Svetličič – a former dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and a long-time member of Centre of International Relations (also its head for over 20 years). The conference was co-chaired by Matevž Rašković from FELU and Andreja Jaklič from CIR.
