“Building Tomorrow’s Medicine”, William Genieys and Matthias Brunn (Sciences Po, France)

Since the vote on the state of health emergency on April 23, 2020, President Macron and his government have declared “war” on COVID-19. This law has given a general legal framework making health policy the government’s absolute priority. The scale of the epidemic, the extreme stress placed on all healthcare workers, but also on the police and all those operating the system, have favored the temporary acceptance of an unprecedented societal configuration. The priority in the fight against the pandemic opens the way to  the disruption of our practices and social interactions, but also in our economic activity and our political behavior.
