The Europe Programme held an event as part of the Transatlantic Forum on Strategic Communications (StratCom) project together with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the Atlantic Council November 30th on “Disinformation – new trends and responses” with a set of closed panel discussions the following day. The spread of disinformation is becoming increasingly popular and news of foreign interference into national elections has become a common sight in today’s newspapers. Reports of how algorithms are created to make “dark ads”, only visible to the target audience, challenge key principles of open societies. How can we make our democracies more resilient and how can open societies fight back against their enemies in the information realm? The event was recorded and can be watched via the link below.
