IEP Lunch Debate with Dr. h.c. Gernot Erler, MP: “The New Russia as a challenge for European Policy”
On 22 September the Institut für Europäische Polik hosted a IEP Lunch Debate with Dr. h.c. Gernot Erler, MP, Coordinator for Intersocietal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership Countries. Gernot Erler talked about “The new Russia as a challenge for European Policy” at the Representation of Saarland to the Federation.
“EU at a glance: how Association can work for you“ – Opening Workshop in Chernihiv, Ukraine
On 21-24 September, 2015, Anne Bercio, project leader of “Capacity Building for EU Association in Ukraine” at IEP, together with her colleagues Constanze Aka and Martin Stein, implemented a successful workshop in Chernihiv, Ukraine, for members of Ukrainian Civil Society Organisations. The workshop was opened with a keynote by Wolfgang Bindseil, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine, followed by a joint panel discussion with Nataliia Hnydyuk, Deputy of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine/Head of the Government Office of the European Integration in Ukraine, Dr. Mathias Jopp, Director of the Institute for European Politics and Hennadiy Maksak, President of Polissya Foundation for International and Regional Studies in Chernihiv.
The workshop is part of the workshop series “Civic School for Sound EU Practice” (CiSEP), a capacity building project for members of Civil Society Organizations in Ukraine that is organized by the IEP and implemented in cooperation with Polissya Foundation for International and Regional Studies (Chernihiv, Ukraine). The project is kindly supported by the Federal Foreign Office of the Republic of Germany. CiSEP enables the participants to critically monitor and effectively influence the implementation of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine.
Integrated EU Knowledge Management and EU Reporting – Opening Workshop in Kiev
On 12-13 September, 2015 Anne Bercio, project leader of “Capacity Building for EU Association in Ukraine” at IEP implemented a successful workshop on Integrated EU Knowledge Management and EU reporting in Kyiv with Ukrainian civil servants. The workshop was opened by a representative of the German Embassy in Ukraine and Nataliia Hnydyuk, Deputy of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine/Head of the Government Office for European Integration in Ukraine who also participated in the training. The workshop is part of the EU Trainer Programme that already started with a selection workshop on 2-3 September in Kyiv and was the first of six thematic workshops being implemented this year. It was followed up by the second workshop on EU reporting on 26-27 September 2015, equally in Kyiv. The programme is kindly supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

Together with Civil Society against Corruption in Moldova – Opening Workshop
On 24 September 2015 the Institut für Europäische Politik e.V. (IEP) Berlin together with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) in Chișinău implemented a successful opening workshop with Moldovan civil society representatives. The workshop was opened by the German Ambassador to Moldova, H.E. Ulrike Knotz, the Head of Political and Economic Section of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Mr. Wicher Slagter, the Director of the IEP, Prof. Dr. Mathias Jopp, and the Co-Director of IPRE, Dr. Dr. Hans Martin Sieg.
