On 9 May 2018, the holder of Jean Monnet Module EU ENVI assoc. prof. dr. Ana Bojinović Fenko from the Centre of International Relations (CIR), University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, organised a round table entitled ‘Mainstreaming environment in EU policies’as part of the Europe Week celebrations at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event addressed the most recent developments in environment protection though EU policies. During the debate, the speakers tackled issues such as climate change, trade-offs between sustainable development and global competitiveness, circular economy, and keeping the low policy environment issue on the agenda during intra-EU institutional remake. The discussants at the round table were: assoc. prof. dr. Marko Lovec, a researcher on International Political Economy of EU Common Agricultural Policy at CIR; Dr Per Gahrton, a former MEP and Member of the ENVI Committee of the European Parliament and a Swedish MP of the Greens; Mr Uroš Vajgl, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Sector for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Deputy Permanent Representative of Republic of Slovenia to the EU; and Ms Cvetka Poprask, LLM in International Environmental Law and Law of the Sea, Alumni of UL FDV, IR graduate.
