The author presents the evolution of the relations between the MERCOSUR countries and the member states of the European Union after 2010, with a focus on the negotiations regarding the new trade agreement between the EU and MERCOSUR. A number of elements are outlined in the recommendations that can contribute to a consolidated relationship between the two trading partners.
