The Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) presented the 2019 ‘Excellence in Science’ awards for the most prominent research achievements by Slovenian research and academic institutions at the annual ‘ARRS Day: We are Supporting Excellence’ event.
This year’s event took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 19 November. One of the awarded achievements was the special issue of Teorija in praksa (Theory and Practice), entitled ‘The Emerging New World Order: New Trends Calling for New Answers’. The special issue was edited by prof. emeritus dr. Marjan Svetličič (a member of the Center for International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia – CIR) and prof. dr. Anton Grizold (a member of the Defense Research Centre at the same Faculty). The editors connected 18 researchers who presented a set of 10 interdisciplinary studies included in the journal’s special issue. At the event, the achievement was presented by one of the authors featured in the special issue – prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič (also from CIR). Prof. dr. Jaklič participated in the panel on ‘Social Sciences and Humanities’. She stressed the urgency of change in research; mainly by focusing on relevant problems through interdisciplinary approaches.
