Prof. dr. Zlatko Šabič from the Centre of International Relations (Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) is one of this year’s recipients of the Golden Plaque of the University of Ljubljana. The latter is awarded for exceptional contributions to the development of scientific, pedagogical or artistic endeavours, and for strengthening the reputation of the University of Ljubljana. According to the award committee, prof. dr. Šabič has proven himself as a path-breaking representative of the University in Europe and around the world with his research work, editorship of a renowned international book series, numerous visits abroad, and contributions to organising the study of international relations. He has contributed to the good reputation and visibility of the University with his professional, advisory, and teaching activities throughout his career. A special commendation for students with the best academic achievements was also given to Ana Klemen, a student at the Chair of International Relations, who is primarily interested in diplomacy, international environmental protection and human rights protection and who published her first scientific article, examining cooperation between the European Union and Africa in the field of renewable energy, this year.
