Course: “CAF 2020 and its Relationship with other Management and Quality Tools”, June 13-15 (EIPA, Maastricht)

The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is a total quality management tool (TQM) based on the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality Management and the quality management model of the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. CAF has been specifically designed for the development of TQM in public-sector organisations, starting with a self-assessment of their performance. Since the launch of the first version of CAF in 2000, till the most current version in 2020, more than 4,000 organisations in many European countries and EU Institutions have implemented this quality framework. This training will be focused on the most recent changes in CAF, and respectively on the CAF 2020.

Participants will, at the end of this course, have a clear understanding of:

  • the CAF 2020 quality model itself, the scoring system and the self-assessment process;
  • how to implement the CAF 2020;
  • how to prioritize, within CAF 2020, improvement actions on a short, medium and long-term basis; the place of the CAF and CAF 2020 within the different models used for TQM in the public sector;
  • The requirements for the PEF evaluator’s work and the Feedback Report.

Course methodology/highlights:
