Founded in 1948, Sciences Po Grenoble is one of the nine Institutes of Political Studies in France placed under the aegis of the National Foundation of Political Science. Its rigorous admissions process, solely by competitive exam, places it in the category of the Grandes Ecoles. Sciences Po provides a multidisciplinary education for more than 1800 students (law, political science, economics). Whereas the second/graduate cycle emphasizes professionally oriented specialization, the first/undergraduate cycle offers a panorama of the humanities and social sciences in interaction with the main problems addressed in political science.
Sciences Po Grenoble occupies a prominent place in research in the political, administrative and social sciences through its three research centers –Pacte, Cerdap2 and CESICE – which are administrated jointly with the Université Grenoble Alpes and Sciences Po Grenoble.
