A researcher dealing with EU energy policy is always pleased to receive a new volume on the topic, but with a sense of ambiguity as to how much value will be added to the existing literature, as a relatively narrow circle of academics tends to publish a great deal on this important issue. This circle also includes the editors of this book, Svein S. Andersen, Andreas Goldthau and Nick Sitter, whose presence in a volume discussing a new topic, the EU’s Energy Union, should be a guarantee of quality and novelty.
This volume was published in 2017, but the final manuscript was completed in February 2016, only one year after the February 2015 Energy Union Framework Strategy was adopted.
