The policy brief examines the European Union’s assistance to Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) in the context of the pandemic, also considering the 2019 EU strategy for cooperation.
The paper offers a series of policy recommendations for strengthening inter-regional relations through actions aimed at the European institutions agenda-setting, the role of the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, but also the support of Member States, including Romania’s potential contribution.
