After having organised its first academic meeting in 2022 on the anthropology of the European institutions (see here), the College’s European General Studies programme continues on this path by inviting researchers and practitioners to reflect on the evolution of professions and careers in the field of European institutions and policies. This topic aims at offering a crosscutting interest for all departments and hopefully for the students just before they leave the College for their new professional life.
The colloquium, “EU staff and professionals’ studies: where are we and where do we go?” will take place on 15 and 16 May 2023 in Bruges. Almost 25 years after the first studies on European professionals and 20 years after the publication of Les métiers de l’Europe politique, this colloquium aims at examining the new developments in the analysis of EU staff and professionals. A first line of reflection will focus on the different methodological perspectives that renew the analysis. The second part will explore the new objects and fields that have emerged in recent years.
