Conference “The EU’s ‘Privileged Partnerships’ with its Neighbours: An Institutional Perspective” (CoE, Bruges)

On 25 January 2018, the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, in collaboration and with the support of the Swiss Mission to the EU in Brussels, will hold a conference to discuss the various forms of ‘privileged partnerships’ between the European Union and its neighbours. These ‘privileged partnerships’ range from bilateral and rather static models (such as the EU’s relations with Switzerland) to multilateral and dynamic models (like the European Economic Area), with the EU-Turkey customs union and the Eastern Partnership countries’ Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas somewhere in between. The conference will also provide a timely analysis in light of the UK government’s quest for a post-Brexit ‘new strategic partnership’ with the EU.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
