Public talk “Brexit: The Irish Context”at the Institute for European Studies by Liam Weeks (University College Cork, Ireland)

The Europe Direct Information Centre University Malta (hosted by the Institute for European Studies)  is pleased to welcome Dr Liam Weeks (University College Cork, Ireland).
Dr Weeks will give a public talk entitled Brexit: The Irish Context  on Wednesday 25th April at 17.30 followed by a reception.
The talk will be held at Dar l-Ewropa, Dar l-Ewropa / Europe House 254, St Paul Street Valletta – VLT 1215 Malta

Summary of talk

What will be the implications of Brexit for Ireland? Will it revive nationalist aspirations of a united Ireland? Will it motivate talk of an ‘Eirexit’, i.e. an Irish withdrawal from the EU? Will there be greater co-operation between Ireland and Malta, the two remaining English-speaking members of the EU?
