This conference, organised by the S&D Group in the European Parliament, aims at gathering citizens, students, politicians and progressive partners in Bruges to engage into a lively debate about the European elections.
The “TOGETHER” project was launched in 2016 by the S&D Group, in co-operation with its progressive family. The aim is to truly engage citizens in key debates all across Europe. They want people to actively contribute and to share with us their thoughts on how to improve our lives and how to strengthen European democracy.
At the end of each event, a statement is adopted by acclamation. The statement presented at the event in Bruges incorporates not only comments from the strategic partners (YES, FEPS, PES, PES Group in CoR, Solidar, Socialist Group in the Council of Europe, Trade Unions, Rainbow Rose) but it also integrates many of the comments received online from people all over Europe. The Bruges’ statement will be added online to previous TOGETHER statements, in order to provide their political family with concrete proposals from the wider public. The aim is that people set the agenda for Europe.
