On 9 December 2020, the European Investment Bank Institute from Luxembourg hosted a virtual finale of the European Ethics Bowl competition. The team of International Relations students from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana won the competition; Gregor Kokal Golčer, Ema Žagar, and Meta Štuhec debated a team of Alumni from the summer school programme organised by the European Investment Bank Institute. The two teams discussed three ethical dilemmas: i.e. ethical considerations related to:
- Distribution and allocation of the Covid-19 vaccine across countries,
- Vaccination being obligatory or non-obligatory, and
- Businesses (e.g. airlines) possibly offering their services only to vaccinated individuals.
The winning team will travel to Luxembourg in 2021.
