First digital public debate on the 2019 European elections and its consequences (IEP, Germany)

On May 26 2020, the first IEP digital public debate took place on the topic “The Fateful Elections and Its Consequences: One Year After the European Elections”. The guest speakers were Dr. Katarina Barley, MEP and Vice President of the European Parliament and Prof. Dr. Michael Kaeding, Jean Monnet Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Exactly one year after the election, the speakers discussed with the participants to what extent it was actually a fateful election (as frequently invoked) and how the parliament has changed due to new majority relationships.
