EU Council Presidency: Climate Policy Remains Relevant
The effects of the corona pandemic require pan-European fiscal and economic solutions, now more than ever. The German EU Council Presidency, which is due in July 2020, would have been a challenge for the Federal Government in ordinary times, but the pandemic has raised expectations of the Council Presidency even higher. In addition to economic reconstruction, issues such as climate policy and the rule of law must not be neglected in the German Council Presidency, explains IEP Director Dr. Funda Tekin, in an interview for the radio programme WDR 5 Morgenecho.
