International Conference: “A New Order or No Order? Continuity and Discontinuity in the EU-China-US Relationship”, Friday, 29 September 2017 (College of Europe Bruges)

On 29 September 2017, the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies and its EU-China Research Centre at the College of Europe, Bruges campus, will hold a conference to discuss the extent to which the ongoing changes in the world are fundamental discontinuities in the EU-China-US triangle, or whether they actually leave the underlying geometry unchanged, especially in a situation where it is unclear, following the election of Donald TRUMP as US president, if one side in the triangle has chosen no order over a new order. The conference will focus on the continuities and discontinuities in the fields of trade and investment, foreign and security policy, and climate and energy policy. The position of other major powers outside the triangle in defining the EU-China-US relationship will also be taken into account.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required before 25 September 12:00 (noon). The working language is English.
