IRMO participates as a partner in implementation of the research project “Improving the quality and the level of representation of employees through organizational assimilation and the efficient use of the EWC instrument by parties interested in industrial relations” financed by the DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. The work on this project will be implemented between February 2020 and November 2021 under coordination of the Institute for Public Policies (IPP) Bucharest and in partnership with three other research partners from the new EU Member States (Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland) and one partner from the EU candidate country (North Macedonia). The main project goal is to improve and increase the quality of employee representation and the efficient use of the European Work Councils (EWC) instrument by the stakeholders of industrial relations. The specific objectives include:
- increasing the efficiency of employee representation in multinational companies;
- consolidation of transnational cooperation in order to ensure permanent exchange of information and coordinated representational process within the EWC;
- identifying the level of understanding of the EU law and policies in the area of industrial relations;
- increasing the level of expertise and know-how of trade unions about the EU law and policies in the area of industrial relations.
