IRMO is involved as a partner on the international research project “Improving the quality and the level of representation of employees through organizational assimilation and the efficient use of the EWC instrument by parties interested in industrial relations” financed by the European Commission, DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. The project is coordinated by the Institute for Public Policy (IPP) Bucharest and involves four other organisations – IRMO, Centre for Economic Development (CED) Sofia, Institute for Public Affairs (IPA) Warsaw and Centre for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) Skopje. The project will be implemented in duration of 21 month. The main objective is to increase the quality of the representation process within multinational companies through the European Works Council (EWC) instrument by parties interested in industrial relations and by means of training, knowledge transfers and the study visit. The project has following specific objectives:
- increasing the efficiency of the employee-representation system within multinational companies;
- consolidation of transnational cooperation in order to ensure a permanent exchange of information and coordinated representation process within the EWC;
- analysis of the level of understanding of the EU law and IR policies by the trade unions;
- increasing the level of expertise and know-how of trade unions regarding the EU law and the IR policies.
