A joint youth encounter initiative:“Facing Antagonismus in Europe: Chances for a common approach? Perspectives from France, Moldova and Germany” At the occasion of their joint visit to Chisinau on 23 April 2014, the French and German Foreign Ministers Laurent Fabius and Frank-Walter Steinmeier had stressed the importance of multilateral youth exchanges and meetings to underpin the process of EU approximation in light of the signing of the Association agreement. The project «Facing Antagonisms in Europe» is aimed at intensifying youth encounters with the Republic of Moldova and is organised by CIFE, the Young European Federalists JEF-Moldova and the Europa Zentrum Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the OFAJ/DFJW. The project is structured into three parts, with a first seminar taking place in Berlin, Germany from 24 to 29 November 2014, followed by a seminar in Chisinau, Moldova from 6 to 11 April and a last seminar in Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium from 14 to 19 September 2015. The same group of young people, eight from each country, will participate in all three parts of the project. Working language will be English. Master in Advanced European and international studies (MAEIS) 2014/15 Start for the trilingual branch of the MAEIS-Master in Nice The academic year started at CIFE’s Institut européen·European Institute (IE·EI) in Nice on 7 October 2014. The 21 students will be spending two trimesters in Nice and one in Berlin, as well as a one week stay at CIFE’s partner university in Rostockand a two week seminar at the EuroSapienza, CIFE’s partner university in Rome. A study trip to the European and international organisations to the European and international organisations in Geneva, The Hague, Strasbourg and Brussels will also be part of the programme. The courses which are taught in English, French and German take place from October 2014 to July 2015. Start for the Anglophone branch of the MAEIS-Master in Istanbul The 31 students of the Anglophone branch started their academic year with a welcome evening at the Institut français in Istanbul. This year’s participants who come from 22 countries will travel a lot during their year of studies: the first trimester takes place in Istanbul, the second in Nice and the third in Berlin. Teaching language is English.
Start for the Master in EU Studies Online The kick-off meeting for the Online Master took place from 24 to 26 October in Berlin. The participants, coming from 15 different countries, will follow the 2 years-programme whilst pursuing their professional career. After this first workshop which introduced them to the courses ‘Institutional architecture of the EU’, ‘Basics of EU law’ and ‘History of European Integration’ they will continue their studies online. Next meeting will be in Rome in January 2015.
