On 14-16June 2015 the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) and the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies (CzOSS) of the Croatian Military Academy jointly organized a conference ‘Croatia and the Contemporary Security Environment – Threats, Challenges and Responses’. The conference sponsored by the NATOs Public Diplomacy Division and held at the Croatian Military Academy (CMA) was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic. The event discussed conflicts in the Ukraine and in the Middle East as well as the role of Croatia in addressing these issues. Additionally, it focused on strengthening the existing transatlantic values and directing them to the countries that aspire membership in the NATO alliance. In order to better communicate discussed themes a special issue of Croatian International Relations Review (CIRR) will be dedicated to this conference.
