Jean Monnet Chair professor at IIRPS VU Ramūnas Vilpišauskas invites to a public lecture “The role of the European Council within the EU”, which will take place on the 9th of March, at 16.45 (EET) and will be broadcasted on the IIRPS VU Facebook page. The lecture will be given by a leading researcher in the field of European Union political system and European integration, prof. Wolfgang Wessels. Prof. Wessels is the director of the Centre for Turkey and European Union Studies (CETEUS) at the University of Cologne and holds Jean Monnet Chair ad personam for Political Science since 1990.
In his lecture, Professor will discuss the role of the European Council as „master of the enlargement“. Reflecting recent developments in Belarus, the lecture will analyze difficulties and opportunities of dealing with the crisis in the country as well as point to the importance of the Eastern partnership.
