Prof. dr. Maja Bučar, head of CIR (Centre of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia), was awarded the golden plaque of the University of Ljubljana handed to individuals for their outstanding merits in the development of scientific, pedagogical or artistic creation at the University and their contribution to its positive image. Dr. Maja Bučar received the recognition for her rich academic career devoted to the issues of international development and innovation and research policy. She was commended on her active engagement in various national and international expert consulting committees, research projects, and other activities. She has, for instance, been involved in consulting on legislation and regulations in research activity and international development cooperation in Slovenia. She also heads the expert council for international development cooperation at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is presides the Statistical Co-Council for Research and Innovation.
