This paper portrays Spain’s contribution to Euro-Atlantic security by analysing Madrid’s performance in: (1) political commitment to strengthening NATO and the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy, and its leadership in conceiving key policy initiatives; (2) actual material contribution to collective operations; (3) overall defence spending; and (4) those national efforts that may have a possible impact on Euro-Atlantic security.
