The Board of The Finnish Institute of International Affairs has nominated Adjunct Professor Teija Tiilikainen the Director of the institute for the next five year term. Dr Tiilikainen has been the Director of the Institute since 2010 and her second term will begin in January 2015.
Dr Tiilikainen has previously worked as the Director of the Network for European Studies at the University of Helsinki and as the State Secretary in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Her research focuses on the EU’s political system and external identity.
Dr Mari Neuvonen has joined the European Union Research Programme for a year. She comes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in the framework of the exchange programme between the Ministry and the Institute. She holds a PhD from the University of Bristol and her areas of expertise include the EU’s Middle East policy, Israel-Palestine relations of Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.
