On 15 March 2019, students enrolled in the Jean Monnet Module EU ENVI at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, have taken active part in the Global Climate Strike for Future. Both home and exchange students participated in the march in the city centre of Ljubljana. A Latvian exchange student Kristiāns Vasiļevskis designed banners for the youth organisation of his political party ‘Latvijas attīstībai Jaunatnes nodaļa’ (eng. Youth Organisation of Latvia’s Development) that participated in the same global strike in Riga, Latvia. The three banners that his colleagues carried while demonstrating were titled: (1) Glābsim zemi, kamēr nav par vēlu – Let’s save the Earth, before it’s too late! (2) Izglāb zemi. Laiks glābt zemi, citas mums nav. – Save the Earth. It’s time to save the Earth, because we don’t have another [Earth]. (3) Velti katru dienu mātei zemei! – Give each day to Mother Earth!
