TEPSA Board elections for the 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2025 term

TEPSA Chairperson Lucia Mokrá has announced the upcoming elections for the TEPSA Board for the new term (1 January 2023-31 December 2025).

All present Board members with the exception of the Chairperson, and the Secretary General Jim Cloos, have been elected for a three years’ term, by the General Assembly meeting in Zagreb on 28 November 2019. The General Assembly meeting in Stockholm, provisionally planned for 01 December 2022, will thus be asked to elect a maximum of ten additional members of the new Board (TEPSA Statutes, article 18). After the election by the General Assembly, the Board will designate the Treasurer (Statutes, article 19), who is a member of the Board.

TEPSA Secretary General was elected as a Board member by the virtual Berlin General Assembly on 24 June 2020 for a three-year term starting from 1 January 2021. The Board later appointed Mr Cloos as Secretary General during its virtual Lisbon meeting 25 November 2020, for the duration of his Board mandate starting from 1 January 2021. Lucia Mokrá was re-elected at the General Assembly in Prague on 24 May as TEPSA’s Chairperson for a three-year mandate starting from 01 July.

TEPSA’s present version of the statutes can be found here. According to the statutes, the minimum number of Board members is six and the maximum is twelve. Current Board comprises 12 members.

TEPSA’s Board members can be academics, think-tankers, policymakers or officials, and should be motivated to contribute to TEPSA’s work. They exert their mandate in their personal capacity and do not need to be from a TEPSA member institute. The ideal composition of the Board should combine geographical diversity, gender balance as well as excellence in the field of disciplines and subjects that are privileged in the activities of TEPSA. We welcome Dries Callens’ availability to seek a new mandate as TEPSA’s Treasurer.

We invite all interested candidates to submit their application for the TEPSA Board elections. Below is a form to be filled in by all candidates. The candidate should detail his/her motivation for the post and should select the role or tasks he/she is interested in to work on during the three year mandate. The document also lists the principles and process of the election process.

All interested candidates should send TEPSA Chairperson Lucia Mokrá (Lucia.Mokra[at]fses.uniba.sk) the completed form and their CV at the latest three weeks before the election, i.e. by 10 November 2022 with TEPSA Executive Director, Mariam Khotenashvili in copy (mariam.khotenashvili[at]tepsa.eu). Applications submitted after the deadline shall not be accepted. The election date will be confirmed at a later stage. The completed forms will be shared ahead of the elections with TEPSA delegates.

The voting procedure in the General Assembly will be organized as foreseen in the TEPSA statutes (see the information on the voting rules in the application form).

We hope to receive your expressions of interest.
