TEPSA Welcomes Three New Member Institutes

The summer expansion ensures the TEPSA Network has a Member Institute
in every Member State of the European Union

BRUSSELS, 12/07/2021: On the occasion of TEPSA’s Slovenian Pre-Presidency Conference, the TEPSA General Assembly voted to admit three new Member Institutes to the TEPSA Network. The EGMONT Royal Institute for International Relations and European Institute of Romania are admitted to full Member Institute status, while the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) is admitted to Associate Member status.

The EGMONT Royal Institute for International Relations is an independent think-tank based in Brussels. The Institute offers an ideal forum to visiting Heads of State and government, representatives of international organisations, foreign ministers and other political figures.

The European Institute of Romania (EIR) is a public institution that operates under the coordination of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. EIR is the editor of the Romanian Journal of European Affairs, a Romanian academic publication focused on high-quality research on current European topics, from migration, security, energy, economic and monetary affairs to EU institutional design, EU foreign policy, etc. The journal is published on a semi-annual schedule, and is indexed and abstracted in various international scientific databases.

The German Council on Foreign Relations is committed to fostering impactful foreign and security policy on a German and European level that promotes democracy, peace, and the rule of law. At DGAP, foreign policy is discussed by the decision-makers who shape it. Government officials from Germany and other countries, members of parliament and their staff, and ambassadors and diplomats regularly come together at DGAP’s events.

Experts from these new TEPSA Members will contribute to TEPSA’s leading projects and make their voices heard across Europe. By integrating them into the TEPSA Network, the European conversation has been made more inclusive, more diverse, and therefore more valuable.

On the occasion of these new Members’ admittance, the TEPSA General Assembly joined together to warmly welcome them to the TEPSA Network.
