Since February 22, 2019, Algeria has been rocked by a protest movement against the fifth term of President Abdelazziz Bouteflika, which took everyone by surprise. This protest movement is marked, every Friday, by the deployment of gigantic citizen mobilizations on the whole of the national territory, the demonstrations were marked by the great youth of the demonstrators (reflecting the demography of the country) and the diversity of social groups and political sensitivities. The announcement of a fifth mandate for a sick and greatly diminished president (and in power since 1999) brought Algerians out on the street, from North to South and from East to West to denounce the madness.
