Ward Den Dooven first joined the Egmont Institute in 2021 as a Research Trainee, and is now an Associate Fellow in the European Affairs Programme since April 2022.
Currently a Project Officer in Democratic Society’s Networked Democracy Programme, he has a key interest in participatory democracy and citizen engagement, whilst also continuing to closely monitor the Conference on the Future of Europe and its outcome. He discovered deliberative democracy through his dissertation, ‘Sortition: a response to the EU’s democratic deficit?’ whilst obtaining an MA in European Political and Governance Studies from the College of Europe.
He also holds an MA in Economics, Law and Business Studies from KU Leuven.
