The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) is seeking a research fellow/senior research fellow (EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood and Russia programme)

The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) is now seeking a research fellow/senior research fellow in its EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood and Russia research programme. The full call can be found here.  

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge on Russian foreign and security policy.

The appointment will be until the end of the year 2019.

The applicant should hold a doctorate or master’s degree and must, through previous academic and public activities, have demonstrated his/her competence. The FIIA accepts educational qualifications and relevant work experience acquired in Finland or abroad. In addition, excellent teamwork and language skills (English and Russian) are highly valued, as well as readiness to contribute to both academic and policy debate on the subject of study through publications and conferences inside and outside Finland. We also require readiness to relocate to Finland for the whole duration of the contract.

The application should be written in English and include a CV specifying the principal scientific qualifications and achievements as well as other evidence of competence and distinctions. The application should also include a research plan of maximum 2 pages on the research to be undertaken during the appointment period, and a separate list of publications.
