Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launched on 24 February 2022, had dramatic consequences on the latter while triggering a crisis whose economic, political, social and security consequences rapidly spilt over to all neighbouring and non-neighbouring states. The conflict resulted in a disruption of the already strained relations between Europe and Russia, and the European Union’s concern shifted from finding ways to enhance cooperation with Moscow to dealing with the implications of a sudden cut-off in relations with it.
