Two new researchers have joined the IIR team: Julian Schmid and Martin Laryš.
Julian Schmid is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre of European Politics in the field of Transatlantic Security, International Relations Theory, and Critical Geopolitics. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick, UK. Julian’s research interests encompass areas such as Critical Security Studies, US Foreign Policy, Geopolitics, Film and Cinema Studies, Poststructuralism, Visuality, and Narrative. He has also taught on a variety of courses at the University of Warwick, Virginia Tech, and Liverpool John Moores University.
Martin Laryš works as a junior researcher at the Centre for Global Political Economy. He studied Political Science at the Masaryk University in Brno and is currently completing his doctoral studies in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. The subject of his professional interest is energy policy and Political Violence in the Post-Soviet Space, focusing on armed conflicts, organized crime, extremism and terrorism.
