This publication has been made within the framework of the MATRA Programme supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine, while provoking a dangerous confrontation between the world’s centres of influence, changed the content and specifics of the activities of the Ukrainian state and society in general and its foreign policy in particular. During the war, and especially amidst large-scale intervention, the nature, means and priorities of Ukrainian diplomacy were transformed. This is a unique experience in the global arena that deserves attention. Some of the peculiarities and features of Kyiv’s foreign policy during the war are outlined in this publication.
