The book “Perceptions of Germany in the Security of the Baltic Sea Region” is a collection of papers from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Germany and assess Germany’s contribution to the security of the Baltic Sea region. The chapter on Estonia argues that while Germany is an important partner for Estonia, then Germany’s real value for Estonia and region’s security is in the leadership of Europe- keeping Europe united and bringing small and large states together.  The book project was led by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs in Riga.
