WATCH: “A New Iran Strategy for the EU”, Ramin Forghani | TEPSA Explainers

“The Iran Nuclear Deal was flawed from the start. Firstly, the agreement does not address Iran’s development of ballistic missiles. Secondly, the agreement contains a sunset clause that effectively at the end can be used by Iran for development of nuclear weapons regardless of the agreement. A future nuclear deal should address the following elements: the sponsorship of terrorism, development of ballistic missiles, and also potential development of nuclear weapons at the end of the agreement sunset clause. The European Union needs a new Iran strategy”.

In this video Ramin Forghani, Doctoral Researcher at the University of Luxembourg, examines the history and contents of the Iran Nuclear Deal and the EU’s Iran and Middle East policies more broadly.

TEPSA Explainers are short videos elaborating on key issues in European affairs according to the expertise of the contributor.
