WATCH: “Digital Rights in the European Union”, Susana de la Sierra | TEPSA Explainers

If our whole life turns digital, then what happens with those people who do not have access to the digital environment? Maybe they don’t have a computer, they don’t have access to the internet, or they ae not digitally literate?

In this video, Susana de la Sierra (Associate Professor, University of Castilla-La Mancha) examines the potential pitfalls of the digital revolution, analyzing both how our lives have changed thanks to the advent of digital technologies, and how those changes may leave certain segments of the population behind. While some countries have made efforts to counter these trends in recent years, as well as to provide digital security and rights, there is still more to be done. As such, the video ends with a number of concrete recommendations for policy makers.

TEPSA Explainers are short videos elaborating on key issues in European affairs according to the expertise of the contributor.
