Webinar: “The future of nuclear energy in the Baltic Sea Region”, October 6 (DIIS, Denmark)

Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 put the issue of energy supply at the top of the EU’s security agenda and led to a U-turn policy shift in its energy relations with Russia. States across the EU struggle to mitigate the unfolding energy crisis and the Baltic Sea Region is no exception. Faced with the double challenge of phasing out Russian fossil fuels and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy, much attention is being paid to nuclear energy.

This webinar invites four experts on nuclear energy from Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Germany to discuss the future of nuclear energy in the respective countries of the Baltic Sea region following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
